Another sleepless night, another silly song I probably won’t play I’ve given up the fight, I know that something’s wrong I’m not ok I’m not afraid to say I miss you I’m not afraid to be in love I am afraid of many things I’m not ready to speak of Another restless day my dreams are wide awake but barely breathing The limitless decay makes it harder to fake what I’m seeking And I’m not afraid to say I miss you I’m not afraid to be in love I am afraid of many things I’m not ready to speak of

Is It Enough 04:00
It's good to know you’re still alive I’ve been waiting here since quarter past five. It’s two in the morning. Where the hell have you been hiding out I’d thought we’d come to some accord. You would tell me when you start feeling bored How am I to know, I still haven’t learned to read minds Is it enough That I hold you up above all the stars Is it ever enough Or should I try to hang for dear life Could you kindly let me know I’ve tried to leave so many times I’m addicted to your rhythm and rhymes Oh, you enchant me, even as you walk away It’s safe to say you hold the cards You make me feel like I’ve been feather and tarred Humiliating, I keep coming back for some more Is it enough That I hold you up above all the stars Is it ever enough Should I try to hang for dear life Could you kindly let me know

Longer Day 03:09
Searching high and low For time to slow To feel my life unfold In a field and stream A lively dream And you right there by me It’s a longer day To shine on It’s a longer day To shine on, to shine on And as the world it spins And nature wins And wrinkles cover life If I can clear my brain Of noise and shame I’d be inclined to say It’s a longer day To shine on It’s a longer day To shine on Oh the time I’ve never held Here and there but hardly felt In another world I see Time comes back to me It’s a longer day To shine on It’s a longer day To shine on

Turnstile 04:05
We slip past the turnstile To sneak onto the outgoing train Let's hide in the back row Just to keep our heads out of the rain With no way of knowing Where we’re going or where we began It really won't matter Just as long as we don't have a plan As we reach the last stop We wave goodbye to the conductor man Before he can catch us We run away just as fast as we can With no way of guessing Which direction we come or we go It really won't matter Just as long as we try, long as we try to move slow When we go towards the sea She patiently waits for you and me Breathe in the nighttime That the ocean so graciously shares We follow our footsteps That slowly lead us back under the stairs One foot then the other Brings us higher than we've ever known Lines on the horizon Are welcoming us, welcoming us to move on When we go towards the sea She patiently waits for you and me Suddenly someone appears at the window They’re knocking as loud as they can A voice at the top of the cellar stairs calling down Boy, you really should let them in When we go towards the sea She patiently waits for you and me

You had me walking around in the dark gazing your eyes, looking for stars you left me waiting for something to begin I can't get out now cause you never let me in the candles burned out long before you never told me what you had in store you're doing well now, or so I am told I can't let go now cause you never grabbed ahold when I wake up I hope I have the time to tell someone or write it all down before it fades away years went by and then it was gone before I rubbed my eyes never again the same just like the sunset skies

Addison Road 04:14
We’ll have to find another way As we watch the waters rise I'll meet you down on Addison Rd There's a river running right across Where our front yard used to be I know I'm just not ready to go Well my momma always told me not to run You must stand up straight until the work is done Even if the job is bigger than you are You'll go far We’ll have to roll our pant legs up And put on summer feet I imagine we will be here awhile I refuse to turn my back On the needy and the weak I remember how it feels to be there Well my momma always told me not to run You must stand up straight until the work is done Even if the job is bigger than you are You'll go far I’m a simple man In the blink of an eye everything we have known Can be taken away, cast aside like a stone Before I let a single thing define who I am I'm a simple man

Pile 04:09
I'm going to make a pile of things that I don't need anymore like trying to make you smile and pacing up and down the floor and making myself hurt, and thinking about you and making it worse yes I'm going to make a list of things that I could do without like trying to resist the feelings that I thought I'd sorted out and checking on my phone for calls I know won't come, I'm left alone I'm going to fill a can with broken hearts and broken memories from the moment this began I've been counting all the casualties the planet will still turn, the fire it consumes yes it will burn

Country Soul 03:40
I Rise in the morning Say a prayer and I face the healing sun I know I lost my way not long ago Got to get it back before the day is done Hold on, Hold on to my country soul I Step from the doorway Look around and see my Only Son I hope he learns not just to fear the wild But to find the ancient roots that grow inside Hold on, Hold on to our country soul Sun burning red hot in the morning Any sailor knows to take warning I sing in the evening To a weary world no longer young I know we may not slow it down at all But I’d rather fight for that than hold the gun Hold on, Hold on to my country soul

Come again my ears are dead They’re ringing from the show tonight I’m interested but this aching head is the boss Tomorrow is another day at least that’s what you would say I don’t disagree I just have less faith Now sing oooooooh Sing ooooooooh Morning comes it always does whether I’m there or not Then afternoon and evening soon are past What have I done what have I done And what has my life become Now dreams are all I can make last Now sing oooooooh Sing ooooooooh Morning comes it always does whether I’m there or not Then afternoon and evening soon are past What have I done what have I done And what has my life become Now dreams are all I can make last Now sing oooooooh Sing ooooooooh

Dreams 01:38

A dark beach sets the stage tonight You parachute into my life My heart turbulent inside Bonfire smoke on the horizon Your hand feels so small in mine I'm holding it for the first time Now you recede and I comply The fire’s lower now I surf the tide of your heart Surf the tide of your heart Surf the tide of your heart And I will be prepared to hold on tight Sand slips in between my toes Your friends come and your friends go But I'm here I'll never leave you behind I surf the tide of your heart Surf the tide of your heart Surf the tide of your heart And I will be prepared to hold on tight To everything we’ve come to know You and I, we’ve come so close Stay where you are, and open your heart Don’t walk away, don’t walk away A bonfire… A bonfire… A bonfire I surf the tide of your heart Surf the tide of your heart Surf the tide of your heart And I will be prepared to hold on tight

Whale Song 04:15
Staying awake a thousand years Sailing along a sea of tears It was a long time ago We had our high, we had our low I guess we wait to cross the line Hold on to the rail to keep from falling down I know this place not too far from town Where we can wade amongst the lies Looking to find the bind that ties There’s no excuse, we shouldn’t be alone Out of the limelight, onto the front lines I’m going to wait for you Make no mistake, I’m going to start a fire I’ll follow the flames that lead me to the choir If I don’t return before the morn Don’t be dismayed, don’t feel too torn I promise you, I’ll keep the fire warm Out of the limelight, onto the front lines I’m gonna wait for you Onto your backside, watching the days slide I’m gonna wait for you This life, this life, this life is just a balancing act Between the old and new My heart, my heart, my heart becomes a battering ram To break inside of you Out of the limelight, onto the front lines I’m gonna wait for you Onto your backside, watching the days slide I’m gonna wait for you

about

This album is dedicated to the loving memory of Mary Elizabeth Evans Smith, known affectionately as Gram. She spent many of her fun-loving years hooting and hollering at live music that brought her joy. We were supremely lucky to have been one of the bands she hooted at. We are even luckier to have called her family. She brought innumerable smiles to all those who crossed her path.

about

Luniere Portland, Maine

Songwriters Calen Perkins, Jason Roman and Geoff Zimmerman met at a coffee shop open mic. What began as a weekly sharing of original songs evolved into a full-fledged band. They added drummer, Eric Landau one year later. They now draw from their wide range of musical tastes to collaborate under the name "Luniere" on original songs that showcase vocal harmonies, pop, rock and folk influences. ... more
